The AR-10 platform is based entirely off of the AR-15 platform. It utilizes an almost identical trigger, gas system, magazine, buffer, and bolt system. The AR-10 is a bulkier AR-15 made to take cartridges that are bigger. It stockier build allows it to maintain a high level of durability, while also making its Mag well accessible for longer cartridges. The AR-10 is a semi auto rifle made for large calibers.
